Improve Digital Literacy for Seniors with Community Workshops

From "Proposals: empower your community to drive change"

Go to the project

As more services move online, many senior residents struggle to access digital tools for civic participation. This proposal suggests organizing regular digital literacy workshops for seniors, teaching them how to navigate online portals, complete forms, and engage in digital consultations. These workshops would be offered at local libraries and community centers, making them accessible to all.

By improving digital literacy, this solution would ensure seniors can engage more fully in community decisions and access essential online services.

I agree! This is a great idea and we need to improve these initiatives for the elder!

I completely agree that digital literacy is important, but we need to make sure these workshops are accessible to all seniors, including those who might have mobility issues or live alone. Offering online sessions or even setting up one-on-one help desks could be beneficial, especially for seniors who aren’t comfortable attending group sessions.

This is an excellent initiative, especially as more and more services move online. I think the workshops should cover basic topics, like how to set up an email account and navigate a website, but they should also address more advanced skills, like using online banking or video calls to connect with family. Maybe we could partner with local libraries or community centers to offer these workshops regularly.
